For our FINAL media writing assignment in MED 205, we will be creating a blog using Blogger.com. (Please check out the assignment sheet before you begin.) This easy-to-use website will make creating blogs a breeze. You will start by going to blogger.com and logging in using your Heidelberg email address (which is also a Google address).
Once you are logged in, walk through the step by step for setting up your blog. You will be asked for a few pieces of information and to create your blog address. Follow the instructions on screen. Once you have done so, your blog site will be create and you can create new posts. Select the orange New Post button to create your first entry.
As you create your posts, you have a variety of formatting options in the ribbon across the top of the Post window. As you work, use the Preview button to see how it will look once you post it.
Once you have a created, revised, and proofed a blog post, you will click Publish to share it with the class (and world). You can also Save and come back to a post later before publishing. You can even Schedule a blog to post in the future.
Remember after you have created your first post to post your blog URL to the Blog URL Discussion on Canvas. (Keep in mind this will not be the url in the window of your browser as you work in blogger--rather, it is the address you create as you are setting up your blog. The "live" URL can be found after you've created your blog by selecting "Settings" from the menu on the left side and scrolling to the "Publishing" section. The blog URL is listed there.) I will combine these into a list for everyone to work from. This is important because you are not submitting your blog through a traditional assignment link. You MUST post the link so I can have access. And your peers need the URL to do peer responses each week.
As you work on your blog, please let me know if you have any questions.
